Fire fighters together with residents supported each other to contain the blaze while locals provided BBQ sizzles to feed the fire fighters and supermarkets donated bottled water and food. Residents not affected by the path of the fires offered their homes to those whose homes were in jeopardy and one of the local vets offered refuge to the pets while owners were protecting their homes.
Mini-Tankers supported the Rural Fire Service over a period of two days at two separate staging areas replenishing the fire trucks while crews were fed and rested before returning to the field.
