Following successful trials at their festivals in in 2021 and 2022 WOMADelaide is rolling out the large-scale use of B100 biodiesel, provided by Refuelling Solutions.

The B100 will be used for approximately 75% of on-site power generation to continue the transition away from the use of fossil fuels. B100 is an alternative fuel that is made entirely from organic matter, such as food waste, with zero mineral diesel.

RFS is excited to contribute to the sustainability goal through providing the WOMADelaide Festival, held in the Botanic Park, Adelaide with fossil-free renewable fuel for this year’s event 8-11 March.   

Steve Scobie, WOMADelaide’s Sustainability Officer, is passionate about providing a completely zero-waste-to-landfill event, and, as of 2023 has diverted 97.5% of all waste away from landfill.

The festival’s commitment to a biodegradable, recyclable, compostable products and packaging waste-free environment, is leading the way for festivals of the future. 

WOMADelaide will be the first festival in the world to provide future generations of festival goers with a carbon offsets program everyone can be proud to participate in.
